How to become a competitive boxer

In order for you or your child to obtain a boxing license which permits you/them to spar or compete safely whilst enjoying the cover of appropriate insurances, you/they are required to complete the following actions:

• Boxing medical - a medical is required to be conducted by an England Boxing licensed doctor.  Typically the cost of the medical is £20 cash paid to the doctor. Medicals can be arranged periodically throughout the season via the Poseidon boxing coaches.
• Registration on The Locker (https://englandboxing.sport80.com/) Instructions on how to complete this can be found below.
• Southern Counties membership fee - A fee of £5 per year is required for each boxer to cover the cost of Southern Counties administration. This fee can be paid in cash or cheque made payable to 'Poseidon Amateur Boxing Club'.
• Identity Documents - All new boxers must be prepared to upload a picture of their passport or their birth certificate on to The Locker as proof of age.  

Registration on 'The Locker' Process for First Time Users

1. Go to https://englandboxing.sport80.com/. Once you have landed on the registration page click on the blue 'Join Now' button. 
2. Enter your email address to begin an individual membership application
3. Enter First Name, Surname and Date of Birth of the boxer to be registered and set a password. 
4. Read and sign the England Boxing terms and conditions, privacy policy and determine your communication preferences.
5. When prompted, select create and new profile and complete the details.
6. You will then need to set up an individual membership. You have two main options:

                                   a.   Tier 1 - for recreational boxers, sparring only - free

                                   b.   Tier 3  - for competitive boxers - £12 (increasing to £14 from 01/04/25

         7.  Then select your boxing club - select 'Poseidon ABC (Hampshire - 1799)'

         8.  Complete the following form with the boxer's personal details and upload a photo.

         9.  Add emergency contact details.

         10. Enter your address

         11.  Enter equality and diversity information.

         12. Include any information pertinent to the Equality Act 2010.

         13.  Read and sign the declaration to complete the sign up.
